ABOUT ME

I have been playing music since 1984, performing live and in the studio, working as a part of numerous projects in and around the Greater Toronto Area. In 1995 my band Pain secured our first record deal with Alfa Music (distributed by Toshiba/EMI) in Japan. This taste of international success led to my subsequent band Emerald Rain releasing a total of six albums through various labels around the globe, securing publishing deals and touring internationally. Just prior to my stint with Emerald Rain (1998 - 2005), I opened my own recording studio in Toronto in 1997 to record and produce music for other artists and fulfill my growing passion for the recording arts.

After almost three decades of recording countless projects for labels and independent artists alike amidst the fast pace of the city, in 2022 I felt a strong pull towards a more rural environment with the intention of creating a brand new recording studio where artists could be inspired by nature and the beautiful views the country has to offer.

With a new studio in Quinte West, Ontario, I couldn't be more excited to share it with all who are interested in making their best music.

The studio boasts a large recording space at almost 1,000 sq ft that's ready to accommodate any project, from recording a vocalist or recording a single instrument, to full-band, off-the-floor sessions. There are lots of high-quality microphones, preamps and outboard equipment to ensure you achieve the most professional results.

A nice blend of analogue gear for the warmth and punch that we love to hear, along with all of the convenience of modern digital recording technology offers the best of both worlds.

With nothing but the peace and tranquility of the country, you can focus all of your energy on creating your music without distractions and feed off the inspiration of your surroundings.

I can handle all of your recording project's needs, from recording the initial tracks, all the way to a finished master that's ready to be released to the world.

And for those who have a DIY spirit, I can help you with any part(s) of your project that you may find difficult, such as recording an acoustic drum kit, a top-notch lead vocal with a world-class recording chain and/or achieving a pro-sounding mix/master.

MUSIC LESSONS

GUITAR & BASS GUITAR

I offer music lessons for acoustic guitar, electric guitar and bass guitar. With over 25 years of teaching experience, I have taught students of all ages. Lessons are on a weekly basis and are at the same day and time each week, once you choose a day and time that works for you.

$20 per half hour or $35 per hour

Lessons are tailored to meet the needs and goals of each individual student.

You can learn:

proper technique
music theory
sight reading
how to play your favourite songs

Learn at your own pace and enjoy all of the benefits that playing music has to offer!

AUDIO RECORDING/MIXING LESSONS

If you're someone who enjoys recording your own music at home and would like to take your knowledge and skills up a notch, I can help you achieve your goals. Lessons are on a weekly basis and are at the same day and time each week, once you choose a day and time that works for you.

$40 an hour or $75 for two hours

You can learn:

how to use different types of microphones and preamps
how to use an audio interface to record music into your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) in your computer
how to organize your tracks and routing to prepare for the mixing stage
modern mixing techniques using EQs, compressors and parallel processing using various effects
